Great beginning to the night! The Domaine Leflaive is stunning, as usual, a little tight but still showing expressive Lemmon, limestone, quince and Asian pear.
The 1996 Pichon is again stupendous! Needing a hour to decant but once it gets there the wine showed dark dust cherry, barnyard, straw, leather, and anise. The plate is full with soft tannins he fruit is more predominate on the palate showing plum, black cherry, and violets.
The 09 Hundred Acre Ark vineyard was still tight but starting to soften around the edges. Big black fruit with some blueberries and notes of cedar and cooking spice.
