These two wines are just fantastic! The 1983 Cristal is almost flat but with incredible depth of character… Slaps of limestone slathered with honey and roasted quince fill the imagination when tasting this bottle. There are also some notes of toasted brioche that is lightly buttered and dusted with lemon zest. Just marvelous!
The 82 Margaux is a exemplary wine in its own right. Dusty cherry and dried cranberries accent a wreath of fall leaves that is held together by old leather straps. There are notes of clove and white pepper meshed together with pencil shavings and crushed gravel as well on the palate followed by a long smooth finish. Delicate in essence, yet powerful in flavor. This is a superb wine!
