Napa Collector Alert: 2012 DANA Onda Cabernet Best Price in the USA!

We just had our good friend, Master Sommelier Jason Heller, come by and pour us some of his 2012 DANA Estate “Onda” Cabernet Sauvignon and it was fantastic! I had to stop what I was doing and share this on the blog- it was that good! DANA is a top three winery in Napa to me and wine guru Philippe Melka makes these wines with extreme TLC. The Lotus Vineyard is the best known wine and one of the hardest wines to buy in the world. The estate vineyards are meticulously cared for and a majority of the wines hail high atop Howell Mountain with the 120 year old Helms Vineyard in Rutherford as the outlier. They only make about 150-200 cases of the single vineyards and they sell for $500-$800 per bottle! The remaining amazing grapes go into this wonderful bottle of Onda Cabernet Sauvignon that gets the same TLC and aging as the big boys! In the spectacular 2012 vintage this wine could truly be the best deal going on great Cult wine from Napa! The wine normally sells for $250 plus but we managed to finagle a killer deal! For only $190 per bottle I took down 3 wooden six packs of this stellar wine! Secure your OWC today!

2012 DANA ONDA Cabernet Sauvignon

Graileys Price: $190 per bottle | $1140 per pack OWC

95pts Parker: The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Onda is essentially their second wine culled from the top lots of Lotus, Hershey, Helms and Crystal Springs. It’s a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot (888 cases) that spent 20 months in 70% new French oak. The wine is deep ruby/purple, exhibits crème de cassis notes with some incense and subtle charcoal. It’s medium to full-bodied, silky smooth and clearly meant to be the wine that most consumers would want to drink earlier than the more saturated and denser single-vineyard wines. This should drink nicely for at least another 10-15 years.
