A few fun bottles of wine opened last night. The Bryant was one of the better wines I have had all week showing a great complex nose and palate as well as a long smooth finish….
1994 Bryant Cabernet – Bryant never fails to impress. However, the 94 is especially exciting with soft red fruit notes and lovely tobacco nuances backed by velvety tannins. I gave this bottle almost four hours in the glass before I managed to finish it off. The wine continued to evolve gaining a floral note and some spice on the finish.
2008 Cinq Cepages – While the Cinq Cepages could not quite compare to the Bryant it was still drinking consistently well with soft black fruit and well developed tannins.
