Good times at Graileys. We were not overly busy yesterday but what we lacked for in quantity we made up for in quality! A few good members dropped in and pulled out some real gems from their cellar…
1998 Harlan – The Harlan was showing very well. Dark fruit with big chocolate and tobacco notes. I would like to see the wine with three or four more years in the bottle to allow the tannins to soften a little more.
1999 Grange – The Grange was kicking! Typical eucalyptus notes on the nose with big stony minerality and a pleasant black berry nuance on the end. The palate was beefy with huge tannins and sweet black fruit.
