A Chilean Favorite- Almaviva Is Rocking!

We are gearing up for our Almaviva tasting and lost a little patience last night and opened a bottle of the 2012 Almaviva Cabernet Blend! Almaviva is a rich, powerful and concentrated Bordeaux blend that began in 1996 as a partnership between Baron Philipppe de Rothschild and the makers of Don Melchor using the best plot of Don Melchor’s high altitude Cabernet vineyard.  Since the beginning, Almaviva has consistently tasted better than most Classed Growth Bordeaux for a fraction of the price! The 2012 vintage is sexy and opulent with a knock-out perfume, supple and caressing tannins, subtle power and a multitude of sweet and savory complexities. The release price is $180 per bottle, but Today, for less than $100, you get one of the best Cabernet Blends in the world that will age effortlessly for several decades and drink like Mouton the entire time! These came direct from Chile in beautiful six-pack wooden cases.  Grab what you can while it lasts- you will not see a deal this great again on this stunner! DO NOT miss this First Growth of Chile… Let me know if I can set aside a six-pack wood case for you- you can reach me directly at  kim@graileys.com. Thanks!

2012 Almaviva Cabernet Blend

Graileys Price: $99.95 bottle | $570 six-pack OWC ($95/btl!)
(Best Price in the USA! – Release Price $180!!)
Vinous 94: Dark purple. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of dark berry liqueur, cherry-cola, pipe tobacco, cedary oak and vanilla, along with smoke and floral topnotes. Smooth, broad, appealingly sweet blackcurrant and cherry flavors show outstanding depth and energy, with a suave spicecake note coming up with aeration. The smoke and floral notes resonate on a strikingly long, seamless finish that features fine-grained tannins and sappy dark fruit character. This flamboyantly aromatic wine was aged in 100% new French oak.
