2012 Claude Dugat Grand Cru Charmes Chambertin- A glorious Grand Cru Babe! Beautiful precision yet the flavors are deeply concentrated, wild strawberries, crushed red cherries loaded with bright spices, cinnamon, red tea and fresh bay leaves. Crushed limestone and rose petals wonderfully compliment the fruit. The texture is powerful yet it goes down like silk, leading into a gorgeous long finish.
2005 SQN Atlantis Fe2O3-1b Syrah- 100 Pointer Knockout! Holy Smokes! Every drop was mind and palate blowing! Dense black and purple fruit, powerful flavors dominate the palate with deep layers of slate, granite, licorice and charcoal. Smoke lingers while wild violets, olives and rich spice race up and down the tongue. This bottle was absolutely insane!
2012 Lokoya Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon- This was a spectacular revisit of another 100 Pointer Knockout! We first had this amazing bottle about ten months ago and last night’s showing has broadened out nicely. A little more aromatic than before as the nose exploded right out of the bottle while I was decanting it. One of Napa’s epitome of luxurious Cabernet with gorgeous black currant and creme de cassis; this is as sexy as Napa can get.
2003 Dom Perignon Brut Rose Champagne- I did not pre-open the Champagnes but this is always a favorite Rose Champagne, the ’03 DP Rose is open, fleshy and ready to roll. It carries bright red fruits with hints of cream and a spectacular minerality that gives the ’03 DP Rose it’s powerful backbone. The flavors stick to the tongue all day! Each creamy bubble is loaded with rich flavors that will blow anyone away!

2013 Corra Cabernet Sauvignon- Now this is one demanding Cabernet! Rich in flavors with a powerful grip! I would like for it to have a couple of more years in the bottle for its flesh to round out, but it shows everything a Cabernet lover would want in a single bottle and more! Wild violets, blackberries, black currants and licorice with a rich layer of vanilla bean and nutmeg. There’s an underlying layer of gravel that I love and the finish is everlasting! Can’t wait to revisit this one a year or two out!
