Last night, Graileys was honored to host Napa’s super star winemaker Philippe Melka! Philippe is one of the top winemakers of our generation. With some of the best estates of Bordeaux and California such as Haut Brion, Petrus, Dominus, and Ridge under his belt you know that the wines he produces will be of the utmost quality. He was such a great host, really cool, laid back guy overall. As we enjoyed his 2013 CJ Cabernet (named after his two children Chloe and Jeremy), he told us how 2013 is his favorite vintage yet! With his thick French accent, he says of the 2013 vintage: “I love a vintage when everyone wins and 2013 is the best I have experienced in my career.” and this 2013 release of his CJ Cabernet is liquid proof of how awesome the 2013 vintage and his winemaking skills are! Scoring 94 Points by Robert Parker and for under $70, you can’t beat this deal!!! We have a few bottles available from our tasting. Grab this knockout Cabernet while you can!
2013 Melka CJ Cabernet- $64.95 bottle | $389.70 six-pack
94 Points Robert Parker: The 2013 CJ is a 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot blend aged 18 months in about one-fifth new French oak. This is one of my favorite wines in his portfolio, and the good news is that there are 1,800 cases. It has an absolutely spectacular nose of white chocolate, grilled meats, blackcurrants and licorice. The wine is full-bodied, has an opaque purple color, beautiful texture, density and overall richness and length. This wine is showing secondary nuances already, and should continue to evolve gracefully for 15 or more years.
Please let me know what I can set aside for you. You don’t want to miss Melka’s 2013 Cabernet! Kim@graileys.com
